Hi! Thanks for your interest in Heels.com and welcome!
We know how much trust you're placing in us when you order shoes online. I hope our story below helps you get a sense of where we came from and what we're all about.
Heels.com launched in October 2007 based on a foundation of love for the most fashionable women's shoes and the ease of shopping online. By combining our owners Linda and Eric McCoy's individual talents in each of these areas, Heels.com was born.
Breaking into the online shoe industry was no easy task; however, once our manufacturers saw our website and understood our forward thinking attitude, they realized that Heels.com was really onto something. With our unique navigation system that allows users to quickly narrow down all the shoes to the exact pair they need and our free shipping, free returns, and price protection that make shopping online risk-free, we have always been about making shopping online easy and fun.
We realize there are many online choices for shoe shopping but we strive to provide a uniquely special experience. While many other web sites have focused on selling hundreds of thousands of different types of shoes and even other products, we pride ourselves on having the best selection of women's shoes anywhere on the web with personalized and knowledgeable customer service that cannot be found elsewhere.
We try our best to accommodate all special requests and give personalized attention to each and every customer. While some customers want the hassle-free experience of ordering online and receiving their shoes two days later, some customers need more information before ordering. We welcome phone calls regarding anything from fit issues (we will even try on the shoes for you!) to style advice about what outfit would look best with a certain pair of shoes. Rather than having a call center or a separate facility for customer service, everyone who answers the phone and email has direct contact with the shoes that we sell. We all love shoes as much as you do!
The employees here at Heels.com are a little bit more like family than just employees. We all live and breathe shoes, and we wouldn't have it any other way! We like to think we are the luckiest people in the world because we get to spend our days (and sometimes nights) talking about shoes, looking at shoes, and thinking about shoes!
From the time we seek out the freshest styles at the shoe shows and from our sales reps, to our receipt of the shoes here at our warehouse, to when the shoes are categorized, described, photographed, uploaded, and shipped to our customers, our employees put extra TLC into everything we do. We all love going on buying trips and taking photos of the upcoming styles for our Heels and the Queen City blog. We get so excited to see the new shoe styles come in and when they finally arrive from the manufacturer – well, it's like Christmas here year round! Finally, we love helping people find that perfect pair (or pairs!) of shoes that brightens their day and their outfit! We get fabulous feedback from our customers and it really brightens our day as well to know we are getting it right.
We strive to continuously impress our customers with constant innovation on our web site and customer feedback is our best way of judging how things are working out for our users [click to contact us]. Most recently we gave the site a makeover to make it easier for our customers to use and we added video content to the site to continue providing a unique experience where you can view what the shoe looks like from all angles on an actual foot.
Heels.com is based out of Charlotte, NC and we believe that our community has been essential to our success. The Queen City has been extremely supportive of our efforts by featuring us in all types of local media as well as being very interested in our concept. We are constantly getting excited phone calls from Charlotteans who have seen our billboard right above our location in Uptown Charlotte. If you give us a call you might notice our twang and hopefully, our southern hospitality.
We are very proud to have been able to give back to our community, even in these tough economic times. In the past, we threw a launch party for the Sex and the City movie premiere by renting out one of our favorite local theaters and inviting all of our Charlotte customers. It was a great success with a red carpet and fabulous shoes, of course! We also had the opportunity to give free shoes to unemployed women here in Charlotte searching for jobs, in hopes that a new pair of shoes would give these job seekers the confidence needed to land a new job and put their best foot forward in their interviews. We are constantly looking for more opportunities to give back any way that we can. See more information on our In The News page.
In the future we hope to continue improving our web site and offering a matchless experience to our customers. We will continue to seek out the hottest styles and provide the most knowledgeable customer service possible. A couple future projects we have in the works are our Heels Community site and our by-appointment boutique location in the retail space of our warehouse.
The Heels Community will offer a fun interactive experience where users will be able to visually display their shoe wish lists in a virtual closet and interact with other users. We are really excited about this feature and we believe our customers are really going to enjoy it.
The by-appointment boutique will offer a very unique in-store shopping experience to go along with our web site. Customers will go online and build wish lists prior to their appointment and our team will pull the shoes in the wish list as well as shoes we believe the customer would enjoy based on the shoes on their wish list. In the boutique we will have large flat-screen TVs connected to video cameras at floor level, so shoppers will be able to feel like celebrities while trying on shoes and sipping cocktails. We believe this will be an especially fun experience for bridal parties, birthdays, or just a special Friday night before going out.
